Dave began coaching at Virginia Wesleyan in August 1998, and guided the program to the first NCAA Division III National Championship Title in 2006, and a National Runner-Up trophy in 2007. He is the fourth men's basketball coach in the 37-year history of the program, and was selected as the Virginia College Division Coach of the Year by the Virginia Sports Information Directors in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07. In 2005-06 he received the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III National Coach of the Year Award, the Molten/DIII News National Coach of the Year Award, D3hoops.com National Coach of the Year Award, the NABC South Region Coach of the Year Award and Old Dominion Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Award. Dave received a B.A. and M.S. from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania.
