AS ONE: Music & Message
AS ONE is a vibrant, weekly, student-led worship experience each Sunday afternoon in Monumental Chapel during the academic semesters, when school is in session. This Christian service of worship focuses on contemporary music, prayer experiences, a Biblical message and community building. Students have the opportunity to learn and build upon their gifts in preaching, laity speaking, playing and singing in the band, sound and video tech.
Once a month, middle school and high school students from the community are invited to come on campus and participate in an interactive worship led by our Virginia Wesleyan students. Also, members of the praise team have opportunities to lead worship at youth retreats in the community throughout the year.
Monumental Chapel and Beazley Recital Hall
Monumental Chapel is open to students, faculty, staff, and friends of the University. It is also available to the general public for events, provided that scheduling arrangements are approved through the Director of Campus Ministries Office and placed on the Chapel calendar.
Monumental Chapel celebrates the covenant of Christian marriage in this sacred space as an act of worship. Consistent with the Open and Affirming commitment of Virginia Wesleyan University, wedding ceremonies for all couples are welcome here.
