Following his retirement from Virginia Wesleyan University in 2006, artist and educator Barclay Sheaks donated approximately 50 of his paintings to the University for the establishment of a permanent gallery.
The Barclay Sheaks Gallery displays works from the Virginia Wesleyan collection on a rotating basis. Other pieces in the collection are displayed at various locations around campus.
