Virginia Wesleyan University congratulates Chesapeake Bay Academy (CBA) on the success of its 29th Annual Auction & Gala, which raised more than $325,000 to support the school’s mission of providing exceptional education for students with learning differences. This annual event highlights the generosity of the CBA community and its dedication to fostering academic success for students across Hampton Roads.

VWU President Dr. Scott D. Miller attended alongside Craig Jackson, Dean of the Birdsong School of Social Science; Taryn Myers, Professor of Psychology; and Vice President Deirdre Gonsalves-Jackson, highlighting the University’s close partnership with CBA.

As a VWU Partner in Progress, CBA continues to thrive on the University’s campus following last year’s landmark agreement in which VWU purchased the CBA building through donor generosity and executed a long-term lease to ensure its continued independent operation. This collaboration reflects VWU’s commitment to inclusive education and expanding opportunities for diverse learners.

We commend CBA’s leadership, sponsors, and supporters for their unwavering commitment to educational excellence. Their success is a testament to the power of community and philanthropy in shaping the future of students.
