Scholar-Athletes Honored for Dean’s List Accomplishments

Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. – Fifty three Virginia Wesleyan College scholar-athletes who were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2009 semester were honored at the State Farm/Virginia Wesleyan College Scholar-Athlete Recognition on Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Convocation Center of the Jane P. Batten Student Center.
These students are members of at least one NCAA Division III athletic team at Virginia Wesleyan and have a Grade Point Average of at least 3.5. Students received a certificate from the College signed by President Billy Greer, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Timothy O’Rourke and a State Farm® representative.
“At Virginia Wesleyan, we recognize that our athletes are students first,” said Athletic Director Joanne Renn. “We are proud of this diverse group of quality students, who are scholars and leaders in the classroom and in their respective sports.”
