The German Studies major introduces and explores the culture of German-speaking countries, with an emphasis on contemporary issues. The major offers an intellectually diverse program, which explores the social and political background of the culture through language, cultural and intellectual history, as well as visual culture and literature. The major prepares students for careers in education, business, communications, government, and many other fields, as well as for graduate study.
