Chemistry placement, CHEM PL, only applies if you intend to take CHEM 120, which is usually only taken by science majors. If you took a high school chemistry course and earned a minimum of a B, you have the preparation necessary to take CHEM 120
However, you do not need to take CHEM 120 as your science course with a laboratory component unless it is required for your intended major. There are many other options for your lab science course if you don’t intend a major that requires CHEM 120.
