VWU Faculty Honored with Top Awards for Scholarship, Teaching, and Service

Professors Moskowitz, Kennedy, Wansink and Dobrin honored during Commencement Weekend

James Moskowitz, Batten Lecturer in Political Science, received the prestigious Jane and Frank Batten Distinguished Scholar Award during the Batten Honors College Capstone Convocation on Friday in the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center.

Also recognized were Dr. Lydia Kennedy with the Samuel Nelson Gray Distinguished Teaching Award, Dr. Craig Wansink with the Birdsong Community Engagement Award, and Dr. Ben Dobrin with the United Methodist Church General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Exemplary Teacher of the Year Award. They were recognized during the Spring Commencement in TowneBank Arena.

“These faculty members represent the best of Virginia Wesleyan,” said Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of the University. “Their passion for scholarship, commitment to service, and dedication to students are foundational to our mission and to the transformational experience we offer at VWU.”
