Registration Open for the 2020 Boyd Institute
Rev. Olu Brown to present “Embracing the Church of Tomorrow Today” March 23-24

Each spring, in partnership with the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church, Virginia Wesleyan University hosts The Robert F. Boyd Institute, a workshop for UMC pastors that yields continuing education units. The 2020 seminar will take place March 23-24 in the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center.
This year’s event features keynote speaker Rev. Olu Brown, who will present “Embracing the Church of Tomorrow Today.” A graduate of Jarvis Christian College and the Interdenominational Theological Seminary, Rev. Brown says he is “truly a church planter at heart.” He is the lead pastor of Impact Church near Atlanta, which in 2016, was listed as one of the top 100 fastest growing churches in America. He is the author of Zero to 80: Innovative Ideas for Planting and Accelerating Church Growth, and Leadership Directions from Moses. His latest book, 4D Impact: Smash Barriers Like a Smart Church, was released in April 2019.
The Boyd Institute is named for Trustee Emeritus Robert “Bob” Boyd, a co-founding member of the VWU Board of Trustees, who passed away in 2018.
