Meet Bob Marlin, explore campus, and discover what makes VWU extraordinary

University News | October 17, 2025

Virginia Wesleyan University invites prospective students and their families to experience life as a Marlin at the upcoming Marlins Day Open House on Saturday, October 25. This signature event is one of the best ways to explore all that VWU has to offer—academically, socially, and beyond.

Throughout Marlins Day, guests will have the opportunity to meet and hear from the University's students, faculty, and staff; tour our scenic 300-acre campus; learn about academic programs, scholarships, and the financial aid process; audition for fine and performing arts; and enjoy lunch. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Jane P. Batten Student Center, with the formal program scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Student and parent panel sessions follow the welcome, and an academic and student resource fair begins at 10 a.m.  Campus tours are offered beginning at 11:15 a.m. Lunch on us begins at 11:45 a.m. in Boyd Dining Center, and auditions for VWU Fine and Performing Arts programs will be held in Susan T. Beverly Hall from 12:30- 2 p.m.

Don’t miss your chance to meet Bob Marlin, our spirited mascot, and feel the energy and community that define Virginia Wesleyan University. Join us on October 25 and see why so many students choose to call VWU home.
