Dr. Keith Moore Named New Dean of Students

President Billy Greer announced the appointment on June 8.

altNorfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. â€" Virginia Wesleyan College President Billy Greer has named Dr. Keith Moore, currently Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, as the new Dean of Students, effective June 8, 2010.

Moore, who has served the College in a variety of roles for 11 years, will be responsible for the general welfare, success and development of Virginia Wesleyan students. During his tenure at the College, he has served as Director of Residence Life, Director of Intramural Activities, Assistant and Associate Dean of Students, and Institutional Assessment Coordinator.

"Dr. Moore is an excellent advocate for students, and he understands the importanceof mentoring, coaching and guiding young people to help them succeed," said Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Enrollment Services David Buckingham. "I am exceedingly happy that President Greer has named Keith as the College's new Dean of Students."

Moore earned his B.A. in Politics and History from Curry College in Milton, Mass., his M.Ed. in Educational Policy, Research, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Darden School of Education at Old Dominion University.

Moore resides in Virginia Beach with his wife, Meredith, and their daughter, Jacqueline.
